- Abstract
- In this short review, we provide a concise summary of chemical/biochemical sensors based on conducting polymer-cyclodextrin (CP-CD) hybrids. For comparison, use of pristine CDs and their derivative molecules was also summarized. The advantages offered by individual CP and CD components make the hybrid materials very competitive and effective as sensing media for diverse sensor development. In the hybrid form, typical CPs such as polypyrrole (PPy), polyaniline (PANI), and polythiophene (PTH) provide an electrically conductive matrix for synergistic combination with CD and its derivatives. Here, recent research trends and characteristics, and performances of various CP-CD hybrid sensors are summarized and compared to CD-based sensors.
