dc.description.abstractWe evaluated the anti-inflammatory effects of Causonis japonica (Thunb.) Raf. extract (CJE) in mouse RAW264.7 macrophage cells. The CJE significantly suppressed lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS)/nitric oxide (NO) production. It also suppressed LPS-induced phosphorylation of IkB kinase (IKK), p65, the translocation of p65 from the cytosol to the nucleus, and the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs). Overall, our results suggested that the CJE suppresses LPS-induced inflammatory responses by regulating the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways.-
