Abstract
Some grapevine plants of cultivars ‘Gerbong’ in Korea exhibit distorted leaves, reduced flowers with poor-quality fruit, and occasional mottling, leading to a significant reduction in their productivity. In September 2021, 52 plants were collected from four plastic tunnel houses in Gyeongsangbuk, Korea. Among them, 21 plants exhibited symptoms. Total RNA from symptomatic leaves was extracted using a HiYield™ Total RNA Mini Kit (RBC, Taipei, Taiwan) and subjected to high-throughput sequencing (HTS)..... To obtain the full-length sequence of the CGMVV isolate from grapevine, eight overlapping primer pairs were designed from the reference genome (KU140423). The assembled Sanger sequence of RT-PCR products was deposited in GenBank as accession number OR552405. Moreover, 20 samples were collected from different Korean vineyards and tested by RT-PCR for CGMMV with the same primer pair CGMMV-F and R. Fifteen samples tested positive for CGMMV. This is the first report of CGMMV infecting grapevine in Korea and the world.
