Abstract
When gamete intrafallopian transper (GIFT) recently has been popularized was performed after tuboplasty, the gameres might be exposed at the stain used in chromopertubtation. Methylene blue, which has been used frequently since the 1950s for chromopertubation, has exibired adverse effects on gametes, embryos amd secretions of the reproductive tract. So we sompared the effects on gamete, so on of evan's blue with those of methylene blue to find out other stain for chromopertubation. Whem motility of human sperm after culture for 15hrs in nethylene blue grouo was 0%, that of evan's blue group was 75.0%. The motility of control group. Rates of mouse 2-cell embryos developed to blastocyst were reduced to 0% in methylene blue group and 75.9% in evan;s blue grouo from 90.5% in control group. These show that time-and dose-dependent inhibition of sperm motility by evan;s blue was less tham that by methylene blue, as was growth inhibition of 2-cell mouse embryos. Futhermore, the presence of evan;s blue in human intra tubal fluid did not alter protein mobility in polyacrylamide gel. And estradiol level by RIA of serum contained evan's blue was not diffrent from that of control serum. These data suggest that the presence of evan's blue in reproductiver tract fluids may be less harmful gameres and embryos than the presence of methylene blue in those may be.
