A CLIC1 gene cDNA clone was isolated from a library constructed with silkworm eggs. The full-length of CLIC1 was 1,212 bp and had an ORF codes for 241 amino acids. The putative protein of Bombyx mori CLIC1 predicted a transmembrane domain (TMD). The transcripts level was high in early embryogenesis and gradually declined with embryo development. CLIC1 expression was ubiquitous during silkworm development. However, the expression level was low in B. mori. The significant homology (99-75%) of the B. mori CLIC1 putative protein exists in from human to frog. This gene is highly conserved across species.-
