Abstract
A new phenolic glycoside, 5-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl-6-O-syringoyl-β-D-glucoside (1), was isolated from the n-BuOH-soluble fraction of Bridelia cambodiana along with three known phenolic glycosides. The structures of the isolates were determined on the basis of NMR (1H, 13C, HSQC, HMBC) and chemical method. All the compounds were tested for their antioxidant activity in a DPPH antioxidant assay.
